Once you have made your mind up that Sabang is where you want to stay, your next choice is where should I stay.
Each Sabang Beach Hotels will be different and I guess I can use the term "hotel" fairly loosely. Why? Well mainly because you have such a huge range to choose from.
You can stay in simple huts by the beach or on the side of the hill overlooking Sabang and the magnificent water. These huts are more suited if you are on a very limited budget and usually have very basic amenities.
From these huts I guess anything is better. There are numerous cottages and hotels which, can offer either full hotel service, to fully equipped kitchens. Just about all accommodation in Sabang Beach will have a fridge, either a mini-bar in hotel rooms to larger fridges in self contained apartments. Always remember to bargain with whomever is offering you the accommodation, you will be surprised with the outcome of your efforts!
Sabang Beach Hotels - The Hillside
By far the best aspect of Sabang Beach Hotels is the fantastic views and the afternoon sunsets. Just for a minute let yourself wonder off to Sabang Beach and think of yourself on the veranda of your hotel room at dusk drinking a beverage of choice watching and collecting the last rays of the sun....okay thats enough dreaming, snap out of it, the reality is far better than the dream.The majority of hotels in Puerto Galera Sabang Beach are nestled into the side of the hill which overlooks the Verde Passage towards Batangas. The further up the hill you go the less noise you will get from Sabang at night.
Sabang is the party area of Puerto Galera and as such can get a bit rowdy for some and exciting for others, choose your area wisely so you will not be disappointed. If you want to be close enough to the action but not necessarily want to stay in it, then the best hotel for you would be a twenty minute walk to the La Laguna Beach Club, on Big La Laguna Beach, here it is quiet and the beach is, well, it is a beach.
The benefit of staying in accommodation at Sabang Beach is everything is close at hand, restaurants, shops, Internet Cafes, money changers you name it, it is all here at your fingertips.
If you plan on staying for any length of time make sure you negotiate a cheaper rate. Long term rentals are like gold to a hotel manager, all your demands should be met. Don't be afraid to ask, if you don't ask you will never know. One thing to remember the Sabang Beach Hotels area becomes totally booked out during the Christmas Holidays, Holy Week and most Public Holidays, it is really close from Manila so even weekends can get busy. Now if you want to come when it is cheap the best time is during the low season, which is May to November, during this period prices can be discounted by as much as 50%!
Sabang Beach Hotels - Which should I choose?
There are a lot of good Sabang Beach Hotels, all with pretty much the same facilities.Do remember, just because a hotel maybe seem cheap does not mean it is nasty! Some of the best places I have stayed in, throughout the Philippines, have been the budget hotels, generally there service is top notch and hard to fault.
Here are three of my choices:
Atlantis Beach Resort
The Atlantis Beach Resort in Sabang beach has an incredible amount of repeat customers, it is not unusual to chat to people staying there and finding out this is there second or more time to stay here.It is easy to see why.
The rooms are set into the side of the hill and the higher up the hill your room is, the better the room and the view.
The staff is incredibly friendly as are the dive center staff.
I highly recommend a stay here!

Capt'n Greggs Beach Resort
Capt'n Greggs is right on the water, as you can see from the photo.It is a budget hotel, but don't let that put you off, the rooms are clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and the rooms have recently had an upgrade.
Captn Greggs has a certain amount of charm that comes from being one of the oldest hotels in Sabang. You cannot buy charm, it comes automatically from all the little things the staff do that you don't realise.

Mermaid Dive Resort
The Mermaid Dive Resort is not on the beach in Sabang, which is good and bad, depending on what you are after.It is in the heart of the action, so to speak. The good thing about the location is that it is back from the bars and nightclubs and is slightly secluded.
One thing that you should know is that the resort is located on the one road that comes and goes to and from Sabang, so it could get a bit noisy with jeepneys and bikes motoring up and down the hill.
But as for location, it is hard to go past its convenience.
