Travel Logistics Manila-Isabela-Cagayan-Ilocos-La Union-Manila

by ALLAN PABLICO
(MANILA, QC)

Hello,

We are planning a trip on a Northern Trail from Manila to Ilocos via Isabela (region II) on May 1 - May 7 2010.

However, being new to this idea (we travel only from Manila - La Union) we would like to inquire re distances to be covered by our routes and the time it takes to travel from one location to another while also enjoying the view of the places covered while driving.

Traveling by night is almost not an option because we might get lost along the way being first timers and without a legit travel guide.

We will also be traveling by two cars (Starex and Strada).

We are not so much in a tight budget and probably can improvise along the way with regards to budgetary allowances.

Aside from that, what would be the places to see while in the vicinity of the stopovers and the strategic stopovers to rest/ inns / hotels etc. (how many days or hours) and some recreation before reaching Ilocos Norte.

Our target is Pagudpud and some other places in Vigan before going home...

Return trip to Manila, we think is not a problem because, once we reach La Union, we think we can handle it and might even stop by Subic via SCTEX.

We hope you can help us, as we cannot find a website that has this kind of info for the moment.

Thank you.
