What are the legal requirements for an American to retire in the Philippines ?

Then if you marry a Filipina does that give you permanent status ?

Hi Rob,

The legal requirements depend on the type of visa that you are applying for.

You can check the details at the immigration website. I have provided the link to their website below.

As for you marrying a Filipina, you still have to apply for the permanent residency. It?s automatic.
