Christmas at the Oxford Suites

Twice I stayed at the OXFORD Suites Hotel on Burgos Street in Makati.

We had a big room on the 26th floor with spectacular views. The hotel has its own restaurant with both local and western menu and is literally near everything.

There is a taxi stand at the front door and a very good netcafe around the corner, an excellent travel agency across the street, a money exchange next door and even a terrific dentist in between.

The 7/Eleven on the block is open 24/7 and a bakery is also in walking distance. The night life is famous on Burgos and the narrow street is overrun with Western tourists. Burgos Street has the feel of the Latin Quarter in Paris.

Oxford Suites Hotel is very efficiently run: it is clean and the staff treats u with friendly smiles. They made numerous phone calls to help us with excursions and we were even allowed overnite visitors before a long trip north early the next day. I never expected that.

Best of all the underground parking is very practical. And yes, I peeked inside the suites, they are luxurious. Maybe next time, hey?
