Tagaytay an Excellent Day Trip!

I live in Bacoor, which is even closer to Tagaytay, an easy hour drive.

Since I only visit the Philippines from June to August annually, I make frequent day trips to Tagaytay. Even if all I want is a cup of coffee. Being a Starbucks junkie, the one they have there makes a 15 minute coffee break into a delightful afternoon of people watching and enjoying the view. I love to go on Mondays when it is a little less crowded and I can bring my MacBook along to get some writing done.

The air is fresh and the place is calm, the perfect place to getaway for a couple of hours from the big city. There is enough to do for the day so that you won't get bored.

I especially like the Ilog Maria Bee Farms run by a local family, where you can purchase honey fetched fresh from their bee hives, along with soaps, shampoos, creams and oils all honey-based (but a wide variety of different choices e.g lavendar honey calming soap, and peppermint honey foot scrub), made by the family themselves. Not to mention, their prices have not changed in over twenty years as a way to show their loyalty to the people.

If you're hungry for lunch, visit Sonya's Garden for traditional Pinoy dishes complete with the restaurant's bohemian motif, or grab a scrumptious mushroom burger from the Mushroom Burger diner if you want to eat light while walking around.

Coming from a true city girl, Tagaytay is the best place to go to unwind!
