Ronald R. Helmick (Barber) Tour Of Duty U.S. Marine 1964-1965

by Ron Helmick
(Topeka, KS. U.S.A.)

Not much to tell it was many years ago in San Magil. Navel Communication Station.

I spent 18 Months there as A very young man 18-19, in detached guard. A part of my life I really enjoyed.

I learned to love the Filipino people and the culture. As the years have slipped away from me. My mind slips back to a time when life was not so hectic. Some of my fondest memories are of that very brief time of my life.

I am now pushing 63 yrs. with a loving wife of 43 yrs. 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

I just hope that there are other American people who get the opportunity to visit and get to know the wonderful people of the Philippines and develop a place in their heart for the Philippines.

From Ron Helmick, Thanks for the memories.
