I did get to see one fight, which included two matches, while I was in the Philippines with my wife.
The first match lasted maybe 5 minutes, the second, about 15 seconds.
I'm not a big fan of any kind of animal fights, but I did see and understand why the Filipino's conduct this sport. Many of them are poor and use it as a means to make money for their families.
They also use it to socialize and relieve their frustrations. My brother-in-law's family raises the cocks. They also make the knives for the Philippine cockfight.
I also saw how they take care of the animals, but they don't treat them as humans, although, I'm sure some do. This is their business and a way to take care of their families.
