Out of the Blue Resort Puerto Galera

The Out Of The Blue Resort Puerto Galera is what brought me to Puerto Galera, not so much the diving but rather the ambiance of a romantic and quiet weekend away from hectic Manila.

I found the perfect hideaway in the Out of the Blue Resort. Tucked quietly away against the hillside facing the bay, the resort is in a class of its own in terms of luxury for Puerto Galera.

Designed and built by Australians, the Out Of The Blue Resort Puerto Galera has a Mediterranean feel to it. The interior of some of the villas are richly paneled and inlaid with Filipino mahogany giving the rooms an atmosphere of homely warmth and fine living.

Design wise, there is nothing in Puerto Galera that can come close to the aesthetically appealing white villas of the Out Of The Blue Resort and Villas.

Each of the 14 villas differ in their layout and most of them come with a fully equipped kitchen for those who are interested to wine and dine in the privacy of their own suite.

I managed to stay in the luxury spa villa which doesn’t have a kitchen but comes equipped with a relaxing Jacuzzi and an unobstructed view of the bay.

What really surprised and impressed me was the fine detail that went into the furnishing of the rooms. The home entertainment system found in the rooms of the villas is another reason to drool over.

Because the resort is nestled against the hillside, it doesn’t have much of a beach frontage. But your not missing much as Small La Laguna Beach itself is nothing to shout about. When the tide comes in, the water goes right up to the retaining walls.

If beaches are what you are looking for, then you should head up to White Beach instead, a 30 minutes ride by tricycle from Sabang.

But if your dyeing for a dip under the hot sun, then there is a small pool located in front of one of the studio villas on the upper level just above the reception office.

They have recently opened a restaurant and bar called ‘The Verandah’, they serve the best steak that I have ever tasted. Prepared by a chef who trained under a master chef from Holland, the ‘Wagu’ steak is simply out of this world. The wine list is also quite impressive. I highly recommend that you give ‘The Verandah’ a try if you happened to be in Puerto Galera and even if you are not a guest at the Out Of The Blue Resort.

Out of the Blue Resort Puerto Galera - How much will it cost?

The rates for stays at the Out Of The Blue Resort Puerto Galera varies according to the type of villa that you are staying in. Advanced booking is highly advisable as the resort is usually fully occupied with its contingent of regular returning guests.

Room rates will vary depending on time of year, pretty typical for most hotels, obviously peak periods are more expensive than off-peak.
