Loved it at first

Manila Zoo will always be a part of my life, I even remember my very first day there as a toddler and meeting Mali and elephant.

But today seeing the real world of this zoo, it's really appalling and sad to know that these animals aren't taken care of adequately. This zoo is the equivalent of London Zoo, but 100 years ago!!!

The dirty cages, the small enclosures, and the ugly people that throw stuff at them is just terribly wrong!

The last time I've been there was in 2007 and I have to say it is really poor.

The elephant is still there after less than forty years, a lone zebra walks alone in a huge yet outdated enclosure and tigers are bored to death in their "jungle".

I want to help this zoo, if I could, but I wouldn't demolish it because it holds to many memories for me, but a complete total long and rewarding renovation inside and out is totally required.

CRUEL
by: Coco

I received a picture on facebook of an elephant who had been in solitary for 34 years, she was holding her own tail for company - how can these people be allowed to be SO cruel. It makes me sick to my stomach. We should all get together and do something for these poor animals.

Manila Zoo lost its love
by: Brett

Hi Troy,

I know exactly how you feel. It's very sad to see how the Manila Zoo has deteriorated to it's current state. Thanks for your input I appreciate it.....Brett
