GROs

Dear Brett,

I am not keen on acronyms.

They they are all over the Philippines. Please explain to me, a naive 73 year old, what a GRO is.

Hi Francis,

I agree with your thoughts on acronyms, we use then way too much and not just in the Philippines. It's lazy English.

The literal meaning of GRO is "Guest Relation Officer".

But the term is loosely used to denote a person working as a prostitute in a bar or nightclub.
