entering philippines with a 6 month window between flights

I am coming to the philippines to visit my son and fiance from the US and want to stay for six months.

I plan on getting the airline tickets with an arrival in July and departure in November and I want to get my visa while in country for the 6 months stay.

Will the immigration at the airport let me enter without a visa for that 6 months stay already obtained?

visa for 6 months

Hi DJ,

Travel visa is initially issued at the airport for 21 days. After that, you can extend it for a 2 months period (59 days) each time up to a total of one year.

The immigration policy requires that you have an outbound ticket for the initial 21 days.

Sometimes, you are not required to show proof of the outbound ticket but that is discretionary upon the immigration officer at the airport.

My suggestion is purchase your 6 months ticket and purchase an additional one way outbound ticket on any no frills airlines like AIRASIA or CEBU PACIFIC that is valid for 21 days. These types of tickets are quite cheap if you buy them in advance. So when they expired, it won?t be too taxing on your pocket.

Take note, your outbound destination can be anywhere so you can select the cheapest destination like from Clark Airbase (Philippines) to Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia).

Check with the bureau of immigration.
