Diving heaven in sabang puerto galera

I have been going to Puerto Galera for twenty years now and the reason I keep going back is really because of three things.

Firstly, there is an ocean current that starts out in the mid Pacific and meanders it's way South West bringing water highly enriched in nutrients and oxygen which has made the diving off Sabang some of the finest in the world and on any dive 50 meters from the shore you can find anything from moray eels to whahle sharks.

The second reason is definitely the nightlife. At the end of a day of diving there are at least six discos in Sabang as well as live music, a myriad of restaurants to suit just about every possible nationality and taste and bars by the score.

The last reason is definitely cost. In recent years there has been an escalation in costs but it is still as cheap as chips to be in Sabang. In 2011 the Big Apple would supply you with a room for the equivalent of £15 a night or if you want to live at the top end, the El Galleon and Asia Divers resort is a five star beach resort offering rooms from $51 US a night which I guess is about £30

So I do recommend a vacation in Sabang any time of the year is fine because even in the rainy season 99% of the rain falls at night. Perhaps Sabang should be renamed Camelot?

Regrettably prices are starting to rise and whilst I cannot give a definite price for the Big Apple I can tell you that El Galleon now has rooms starting at $59 a night.
