Bringing currency into The Philippines

by Rab
(Scotland)

Hello there,

I am traveling from Scotland later this month.

I am going to be using my ATM card but would also like to take some Peso's with me. I had heard there may be a limit to how much i can bring into the country.

Is this true and if so how much can i bring?

Thank you
Rab

there is a limit of 7,000 PHP that can be taken OUT of the country.
ATM's aren't really a good idea.
Open an account with HSBC bank - world wide and get money from there when you need it.

bringing in pesos
by: Brett

Hi Rab,

Regardless of the limit, bringing in a lot of cash into the country is never a wise idea.

Normally, I just bring enough to help me move around during my arrival. A reasonable peso amount to have during your arrival is around 10,000php to 20,000php since you are bringing your ATM card with you as well.

Regards
Brett
